If access is difficult – for example, if the unit is upstairs, in a basement, or needs partial dismantling – we’ll plan for extra manpower or specialist equipment to ensure safe removal.
On the collection day, our trained operatives arrive with the correct PPE, tools, and transport. We can disconnect the fridge from mains power or water if required, and for large cold rooms or built-in systems, we carefully dismantle the structure on-site.
Once the fridge is loaded, it’s taken to a licensed WEEE recycling facility. Here, hazardous components like refrigerants, compressor oil, and insulation foam are extracted for safe treatment. The remaining materials – such as steel, aluminium, glass, and plastics – are separated and sent for recycling.
When the job is complete, you’ll receive a Waste Transfer Note to confirm the fridge was collected and disposed of in line with environmental regulations.
