Fluorescent tube disposal that’s hassle-free

Our friendly and efficient team can collect fluorescent tubes within an agreed 2-hour time frame that is convenient for you.

As a registered licensed waste carrier (CBDU117809), we will provide you with a hazardous waste consignment note that is a legal requirement. This document also provides proof that the fluorescent tubes will be disposed of legally and in accordance with the WEEE directive.

Why is a fluorescent tube hazardous waste?

As a business you have a legal obligation to ensure that any hazardous waste, such as fluorescent tubes, are disposed of safely and legally.

Fluorescent tubes are classified as hazardous waste due to the Mercury (a highly toxic metal that if not disposed of correctly can contaminate the water supply and wildlife) it contains and therefore, cannot be placed within a general waste or recycling bin.

What happens to the fluorescent tubes?

When our WEEE team have collected your fluorescent tubes, they will be sent to a dedicated recycling plant for processing.

When processing the tubes, they will be deconstructed within a safe environment to ensure that any harmful elements, such as the Mercury, cannot escape. After that, the tubes will then be separated into individual streams.

Why choose Yes Waste to recycle your fluorescent tubes?

Yes Waste is an established waste management company with over 10 years of experience.

Our reliable and efficient teams usually consist of 2-3 people who will contact you when they are 30-minutes away. Once they arrive, they will confirm the price to collect the tubes and if agreed, they will load the fluorescent tubes and go, whilst providing you with a hazardous waste consignment note.
