What is IT waste?
IT stands for Information Technology and is a catch all phrase for computers, laptops, tablets that can store or retrieve data. We can also provide data destruction.
If you wish to drop-off your redundant electrical waste, We can accept drop offs of all non hazardous WEEE for free if you’re a household.
However, if you are a business you will require a waste carrier’s licence. Alternatively, if you regularly generate quantities of WEEE, we can provide wheelie bins or containers/skips. Furthermore, if you have your own storage we can empty that too.

What happens to electrical waste after we’ve collected it?
Once we have collected your waste electrical items, it is assessed back at our site to see if it can be reused in its’ present condition.
If it is decided that it cannot be reused in its present condition, it is either refurbished or stripped down (we hold a T11 licence that allows us to do this. Whoever you use to do your I.T. recycling in Aberdare, please make sure they have this licence as it is a legal requirement if you are testing and refurbish old PC’s and laptops).
Regardless of whether the item is reused, refurbished or destroyed, all data bearing equipment is either wiped or destroyed. In all cases we follow the waste hierarchy.
